Sandwich is one of the original Cinque Ports and has unspoilt medieval streets where there are more half-timbered houses than any other street in England.
To get to the bay you will need to head towards the private estate and pay a toll if you are travelling by car. From the town the toll road takes a few minutes by car and about ten minutes by bicycle.

Good eating is on the menu at the many pubs, restaurants and cafés found in the winding lanes of the town, so if you haven’t brought a picnic with you then this is where you need to head to. There are quaint shops, a weekly market on Thursday mornings and a Farmers' Market on the last Saturday morning of each month.
