Explore beautiful White Cliffs Country on foot or two wheels
Covering 123 square miles and 20 miles of coastline and beaches, 22% of the entire region is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and 3% of this is designated as Heritage Coast. We have some amazing paths and trails to explore in White Cliffs Country whether you're on foot or two wheels, with routes for serious walkers and cyclists and for those who prefer a more leisurely pace.
For walkers, there are long-distance routes such as the England Coast Path, North Downs Way and the Stour Valley Way and shorter trails including the Miners' Way Trail (guides available from the Visitor Information Centre in Dover Museum), Heritage Town Trails and Goodnestone Walk.
For cyclists, there are wonderful routes through countryside and along the coast, such as the North Downs Way Riders' Route, The Sandwich Way and the Chalk and Channel Way. There is also a 3-km tarmac cycle track and mountain bile trails at Betteshanger Park for those who prefer off-road cycling.
